How do I know if I need surgery or only medicine?
Not all conditions require surgery. In many cases of piles, fissure, or early hernia, medicines, lifestyle changes, or minor procedures may be enough. After examining you and reviewing any tests, Dr. Nazrul will explain both non-surgical and surgical options so you can decide confidently.Are colorectal and general surgeries very painful?
Modern anesthesia, pain control protocols, and minimally invasive techniques make most surgeries much more comfortable than patients expect. You may feel some discomfort for a few days, but this is usually well controlled with medicines and proper post-operative care.How long does it take to recover after surgery?
Recovery time depends on the type of surgery, your general health, and whether open or laparoscopic methods are used. Many patients go home the same day or next day after laparoscopic gallbladder or hernia surgery, return to desk work within 5–10 days, and are advised to avoid heavy lifting for a few weeks. You will receive personalized recovery instructions before discharge.Is it safe to delay treatment for piles, hernia, or gallstones?
Delaying treatment can sometimes lead to complications. Piles may progress and bleed more frequently. Hernias can enlarge or become trapped (strangulated), which is an emergency.
